In 1817, the founding members of the Medical Society of the District of Columbia banded together to defend quality healthcare and advocate for a healthier future for our Nation’s Capital. The Bicentennial Celebration, taking place on Saturday evening, October 21, 2017,at the Willard Hotel, located at 1401 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, will commemorate the 200-year history of the Medical Society of the District of Columbia. The Medical Society has helped form a national physician voice and played key roles in improving the District's public health and medical education. MSDC's Bicentennial Celebration will recognize the Medical society's many contributions and serve as an opportunity for all physicians in the Nation's Capital to come together to celebrate the profession of medicine and connect with physicians from across metropolitan Washington.

The physician gala will take place at the historic Willard Hotel, built on the site of MSDC’s founding meeting. Highlights of the meeting include: 

• Reception and socializing with physicians from across the Metropolitan Washington area
• Attendance by local and national leaders in medicine and politics
• Celebration of the past 200 years of medicine in our Nation’s Capital
• Historic location at the Willard Hotel, built on the site of MSDC's founding meeting

MSDC President Julian Craig, M.D., will host the evening's festivities which will provide ample opportunity for physicians of all specialties from across the Nation's Capital to come together to celebrate the profession of medicine, connect with old friends and meet new physicians from across metropolitan Washington.
