• Keynote Speaker LaQuandra S. Nesbitt, MD, MPH                                                                          DC Department of Health Director
  LaQuandra S. Nesbitt, MD, MPH, was appointed by Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser in January 2015, to serve as the Director of the Department of Health. Immediately prior, Dr. Nesbitt served as the Director of the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness, where she was the leading public health expert for Louisville, KY. She also held a faculty appointment at the University of Louisville, School of Public Health. Dr. Nesbitt is a published author, and served as an executive editor of “Population Health: Management, Policy and Technology” (2014) First Edition. Prior to her role in Louisville, Dr. Nesbitt served as the Senior Deputy Director for the Community Health Administration and Senior Deputy Director for the Center for Policy, Planning, and Evaluation at DOH. She is delighted to be back in the city and looks forward to participating in the Reception for the Medical Society Annual Meeting. Her presentation titled, “Closing the Chasm between Clinical Medicine and Public Health", is a topic to which she brings insight, focus and determination, essential to improving the health of those living, working, and visiting our nation’s capital.
